Our journey with plaster began nearly a decade ago during the process of restoring a old Queen Anne in Downeast Maine. What started as a search for a more natural wall finish—replacing layers of worn antique wallpaper—quickly became something deeper. Beneath each strip of faded floral block printed paper remained the home’s original horsehair plaster, still firmly keyed into the laths. All signs pointed towards further research into plaster.

As the exploration into plaster deepened the benefits spoke for themselves: exceptional breathability that supports healthier indoor air quality, natural moisture regulation, sound dampening, durability, and a timeless, tactile beauty. Plaster became the only choice.

Through trial and refinement, plaster found its way back onto the walls and ceilings of this home—transforming worn spaces into enduring environments where craftsmanship and earthen materials come together.
